Contrary to popular belief, sickness is not an entity. It is not something that one can remove, or take away. The concept of light and darkness is directly analogous to the concept of health and sickness. If a room is too dark, do we try to take out some of the darkness to see better? Of course not. Darkness only exists in the absence of light. Likewise, sickness exists in the absence of health.

What does it matter? Isn't it just semantics?

It matters because what one believes determines the actions one takes. Sadly, many focus on trying to remove sickness by treating the symptoms of sickness with drugs. This is like someone trying to push darkness out of a room. The solution is not to decrease darkness, but rather to increase light. Similarily, focus on increasing health in your body because sickness is a lack of health. The solution is to increase the amount of health in the body just as we would increase the amount of light in the room. It is not sickness, it is lack of health!

Whenever a "treatment" is given, ask yourself if the focus is on treating your sickness or increasing your health. Take action to increase your health!

Two simple words packed with so much meaning. It can be an uplifting expression, or a beautiful metaphor. We believe that the name "Living Well" embodies not only the goal of what we are trying to accomplish but more importantly, the process. We believe that health is a major component to living well, and is our primary focus. Health, like many things can be forgotten until the apparent effects interfere with our daily living. Ultimately, we want to aid people in taking a vested interest in their health; to bring them to a state of living well and help them to maintain it. The bottom line is that we are responsible for our own health and our choices dictate whether or not we are living well.

This blog will be a resource for those who make the choice to live well. Topics will vary on all aspects of health from Chiropractic to how and what we eat, how we move and how we think. For those of you who are interested in learning, check back here often for updates.
